Coverage Area

Unlike DSL and other broadband technologies that are limited to only densely populated areas, T1 service is available just about anywhere with a phone line. T1, also known as DS1, uses repeaters to boost up the signal strength of the transmission - allowing it to travel up to 50 miles away from the nearest Central Office location.

What is Dsl Service and how does it work?

Written by: Brad Dudley - Jan 9, 2009

Dsl stands for "digital subscriber line". It is a highspeed internet service that sends information over conventional phone lines. This information is sent at a different frequency than a telephone call, allowing the same phone line to be used for an internet connection and a telephone call simultaneously. The speed of a dsl connection is generally 1.5 Mbps, or about 50-60 times greater than that of dial-up. A dsl connection is muck more reliable than dial-up, also. In many areas you can find dsl service for less than $30 per month, which is not much more than some of the more expensive dial-up providers charge.
