What's Dsl?Written by: Brad Dudley - Jul 3, 2008
Dsl stands for "Digital Subscriber Line". A digital subscriber line is a high speed internet connection using your standard phone line connected to a computer modem. A Dsl connection can be left on and you can still use your phone line for calls, making it much more convenient than dial up internet service. This is achieved by sending the information down the phone line at different frequencies. Dsl service is also much faster than dial up. Up to 50 times as fast, at 1.5 MBPS.
